Museveni meets Kanye West, gifted with sneakers

Kanye West who has changed his name to Ye and his wife Kim Kardashian met with President of Uganda, Kaguta Museveni on Monday at the State House.

"I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda," President Museveni tweeted.

Kanye West told the President that he has plans to build a tourism school in Uganda.

"He informed the president that he intends to put up a world class tourism school in the country, " His office tweeted.

President's office also said Museveni had given the american rapper a Ugandan name Kanyesigye, which means "Ï trust".

His wife Kim Kardashian was named Kemigisha, which means "the one with blessings from God", according to a Facebook post from the Office.

Kanye who is in Uganda to finish his latest album, Yandhi, said he was glad to be in Uganda and described it as a second home.

He also gifted Mr.Museveni with white sneakers at the State House.

"I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true Pearl of Africa," President Museveni added.
