Jacque Maribe and boyfriend Jowie charged with murder

Jacque Maribe and boyfriend Jowie charged with murder

Police had hinted Jacque Maribe may not be charged but might become a prosecution witness against her fiance who has been charged with murder and attempted suicide.

This decision was reached after she revealed Jowie had shot himself.

However, Maribe and her boyfriend have now been charged with murder of Monica Kimani who was found dead in her house in Kilimani.

Ms Monica Kimani who lived alone along Dennis Pritt road was found dead last month in Luciane Apartments the same day she got back from South Sudan.

Joseph Irungu alias Jowie is said to have picked her up at the airport and drove her home on the night she was murdered.

Police believed he was the last person seen with Ms Monica hence conducted DNA test and forensic examination of his fingerprints.

“The DNA results are out and it is a 99.99 per cent match of the samples harvested from Jowie,” a senior detective at the Homicide unit said.

“We have no doubt that Jowie was at the scene,” he emphasized.

A wallet and a handbag suspected to belong to slain Miss Monica were found at Citizen TV star Maribe's home in Royal Park,
Lang'ata, as per a source cognizant of the investigations.

Mr Brian Kassaine, who is Maribe's neighbour will be a State witness in the case against the duo.

Judge Lessit ordered Maribe to be detained at Lang'ata Women'S Prison.

She will undergo a mental assessment at Mathare Mental Hospital while Jowie will be detained at Industrial Area Remand Prison.
