Atleast 100 feared dead as ferry sinks in Tanzania

Provincial Governor John Mongella said on Thursday the toll had come to 44 while 37 others had been saved after the sinking of MV Nyerere ship near Ukara Island.

The ship was going between Ukara and Bugolora and capsized near the zone of Mwanza. It was obscure what number of travelers were on board the MV Nyerere as indicated by Tanzanian authorities.

The representative included that rescue mission had been suspended and would proceed on Friday morning.

The ship was likewise transporting cargo, including sacks of maize and cement, when it capsized near the dock. The reason for the mishap was not promptly clear, but rather overloading is every now and again to fault for such occurrences.
